Utrecht Station Area

Utrecht Central Station is undergoing intensive construction. It is developed in to a modern public transport terminal. At the same time Hoog Catharijne shopping centre will be modernised, a new library will be build, and the old music centre Vredenburg transformed into a Music Palace.

At the westside of the station where The Jaarbeurs is located, a new casino, a mega-cinema complex and a hotel will be constructed. And last but not least: water will once again flow in the Catharijnesingel canal.

Stationspein West will become larger and on the ground floor a square with offices, restaurants, shopping and entertainment will be realised: 150,000 m² of offices within the Utrecht Station Area and 25.000 m² outside the Station Area.  About 19.000 m² of retail space will be added to shopping centre Hoog Catharijne. The developer is the city of Utrecht and partners NS Real Estate, ProRail (OV-terminal) and Corio (Hoog Catharijne).
