Utrecht Honoured for Sustainable

Transportation Initiatives

Utrecht won the 2011 CIVITAS City of the Year award, granted annually to the European municipality that demonstrates excellence in sustainable urban transportation innovation.  Utrecht also took top honors in the Technical Innovation category.

According to CIVITAS awards jury member Sonja Van Renssen, Utrecht won recognition for its comprehensive green transportation initiatives, as well as an innovative freight delivery program.
