Harry Hauptmeijer CEO Yokogawa Europe

"Yokogawa chose to build a new headquarter on a central location in the province of Utrecht: Amersfoort. Two main requirements were met with this decision. First the proximity of Schiphol airport and second, the accessibility of the office for the majority of our workforce.

The Netherlands, with its universities of technology and its open culture, provides us with just the right type of employees - creative - and with great problem solving skils".

In keeping with the tradition of the 400-year-old trade relationship between Japan and the Netherlands, the Japanese company Yokogawa decided to open an office in the Netherlands in 1982, in order to penetrate the European and African markets from there. That first location in Amersfoort has since become the Japanese company’s headquarters for Europe and Africa. In subsequent years, Yokogawa bought another business in Apeldoorn, and established a sales office for the Dutch market in Maarssen in the early 90s. In May 2009, it opened the doors of the ultra-modern new head office in Amersfoort, where all Yokogawa's disciplines are brought together again under one roof.
